Depression and Anger: coping with these two that affect the mental state
Both anger and depression are emotions that can be bad for someone.But they seem to be on opposite sides.One of them can be seen. While the other one can be unnoticed.
As a family therapist San Diego I have seen both emotions. Both of them, if the case is already serious, need to be addressed by an expert in that field.These are issues which one can not just leave alone and hope to go away.When you are angry you can hurt other people.You can harm yourself when depressed.
So let’s look at the first emotion that is visible, anger. Anger is a dangerous emotion. It is a natural emotion that happens to everybody. But sometimes people have it go too far. Sometimes it seems uncontrollable.And if you don’t control yourself, it can get the best of you.But those will be the times when you have to control.Other people can be hurt physically or emotionally due to anger. If it gets too much you need to seek some anger management counseling.
The other one is depression.It may be unnoticed not like anger where it is very obvious when experienced.The main reason is because most people hold in their depression. Sure it can get noticeable. When it does become noticeable, usually it is a sign that someone needs professional help.Why do someone need to seek professional help?Because a severely depressed person can hurt themselves.People hide it that’s why it is or can be dangerous. If a person gets to the point of severe depression they need professional help such as depression counseling.
It is hard when dealing with emotional problems.Most people undergoing these problems feel like they can overcome it on their own.Or they feel like they can handle it on their own without anybody’s help.But at that point they need all the help they can get.It is unacceptable for them. But when you are dealing with emotions that can bring harm to themselvesand others, you need to.
