WoW Blacksmithing – A Short Guide
If you intend to take part in the World of Warcraft, a profession you can choose is WoW blacksmithing.
It lets this character forge things out of iron, like weapons, armor and numerous other trade items.
For those characters that wear chainmail and armor plating WoW blacksmithing is especially useful. However, because of the abilities they possess in weapons building a lot of other classes can find a use for a blacksmith as well.
It cannot be suggested strongly enough that you should start in on mining as your second profession, to capitalize on your WoW blacksmithing. This will give you the chance to find and smelt the minerals, ores and other materials that you might need for your profession, saving you plenty of gold at the Auction House.
So you want to be a blacksmith
You must be at least level five to begin to do WoW blacksmithing training.
Now all you have to do is start training in the closest blacksmith training area.
To make the best of all the recipes you are learning, you’ll need to have access to an anvil as well as a hammer.
The recipes in WoW blacksmithing will let you know whether they can advance your level.

Ply your trade it is the one way for you to accumulate skill points.
- You will always be given skill points with orange recipes.
- Yellow recipes will also give a skill point the majority of the time.
- Occasionally you can get a skill point working on a green recipe.
- You will never earn skill points doing a grey recipe.
WoW blacksmithing leveling up
Go straight back to your trainer as you level up, when you discover that you need more training and new recipes. You can also find new recipes on certain vendors, find them in loot from corpses, or buy them on the Auction House.
The top levels of WoW blacksmithing will require the Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King expansions.
To specialize in blacksmithing, you’ll have to carry out a specialization quest.
Don’t forget to choose your quest very carefully because the decision you make is binding.
